I haven't been keeping up with my drawing blog very well. Between my ongoing job searching (in case I haven't mentioned it, I'm trained as a librarian), my attempts to upgrade my information architecture / web design skills, and my moving preparations (Anabela are moving to a new apartment next week), I've had my hands full! Between all of this, I've found it easier to work on my ceramic drawings than to keep up with my sketches on paper. It's all explained here, but after participating in our first trunk show this week, our fieldguided shop got featured on the Etsy blog and I've had some new custom orders to keep me busy and add to the chaos. Don't get me wrong though - I enjoy it very much and I thrive on this busyness!

It's been a little while but I'm resuming my drawing again, with some new books and a new work area for inspiration.

A photograph I took yesterday showing some current projects I'm working on. These days my 'studio' consists of a narrow table against the wall where I have my laptop, scanner/printer and a few task lights. It seems to work alright.

At the top left is a small plaid patch of a cape made by Anabela, resting on a dressform in the hallway. Then comes the Olivetti typewriter, then my work area. I'm hoping to make a series of drawings on the vintage punch-cards that Anabela gave me a few years ago (one is visible in the middle of the photo, with some scribbles and tentative drawing experiments on it. At the time of this photo, I was finishing up one of my doily drawings.
